LIMA President Congratulates Newly Appointed Selectors

President of the Leeward Islands Masters Association, Alkin Rogers, has taken time out to congratulate two of the outstanding Leeward Islands masters on their new appointment.

Livingstone Harris who is originally of St.Kitts but who represents the St.Thomas masters’ team and Lawrence Carty who represents Anguilla, have been appointed as selectors to the Leewards Islands Cricket Association.

The full text of the congratulatory message from Mr. Rogers reads as follows:

“On behalf of the executive and members of the Leeward Islands Masters Cricket Association, I want to congratulate two members of the Leeward Islands Masters Cricket Association family for their elevation as Selectors for the Leeward Islands Cricket Association. They are Mr. Livingston Harris who now represents St. Thomas in the United States Virgin Islands but who once was an outstanding cricketer in St. Kitts, Leeward Islands and West Indies and Mr. Lawrence Carty who represents Anguilla in the Leeward Islands Masters Cricket Tournament, but who also was an outstanding cricketer at Leeward islands level.

We are confident that they will make a difference in ensuring that talent, skill and performance are recognized and rewarded. We want to wish them the very best in their new assignments. We would also like to congratulate the other persons selected in various areas, including Mr. Hector as President and Mr. Ralph Hodge as Vice President. It is time to regroup and ensure that Leewards cricket is once again the backbone of West Indies cricket. We have the talent but it must be harness, nurtured, respected, recognized and rewarded.

The Leeward Islands Masters Cricket Association is proud that its players continue to distinguish themselves not only as players but as Administrators, Managers, Coaches and contributing in other related areas.

We want to wish these players the very best in their endeavours. We are confident that their expertise will help in changing the direction of cricket in the Leeward Islands. In this regard we look forward to renewed enthusiasm and development in cricket is the Leewards and eventually in West Indies Cricket.”
