National Intervention Team Training

On June 5, 2025, the National Intervention Team, led by Sergeant Audain (No. 67), launched a significant training initiative aimed at enhancing both the personal and professional growth of its members. This training series reflects a strategic commitment to improving the team’s effectiveness, cohesion, and readiness to serve the public with integrity and excellence.

The opening session began with a spiritual reflection led by Mrs. Toby, who encouraged participants to engage in meaningful self-examination. She facilitated a unique exercise in which officers were assigned presentation topics aligned with their personal strengths and areas for development. These topics included Time Management, Introduction to PowerPoint, Good Leadership Skills as a Community Officer, and The Importance of Ethics in Policing. Participants created and delivered concise lessons to their peers, fostering a spirit of collaboration, leadership, and open communication.

The session also included a period of fellowship during which officers enjoyed a complimentary lunch, further reinforcing a sense of camaraderie and mutual support within the team. This holistic approach to training underscored the significance of both skill development and emotional well-being.

On June 11, 2025, the training continued with a follow-up session led by Mrs. Abi Begho from Lake Health and Wellness. Her presentation, “Protecting Your Health to Better Serve and Protect Others,” addressed the critical connection between officer wellness and effective service delivery. Officers received practical strategies for managing stress, maintaining emotional balance, and promoting physical health. The session also featured a motivational talk by Superintendent David, who shared personal experiences from his career in law enforcement, emphasizing the values of integrity, resilience, and trust.

Sergeant Audain commended the initiative, stating, “These sessions have not only enhanced our skills but also uplifted our spirits. We are better prepared to lead, support one another, and serve our communities with excellence.” The National Intervention Team remains committed to continuous training and wellness, ensuring readiness to build stronger, safer communities throughout the Federation.
