New NRP Leadership to be elected on Sunday

Charlestown, Nevis (Wednesday, October 17, 2018) Following its massive General Council meeting on October 7th, the Nevis Reformation Party (NRP) will continue the move forward this weekend at its Convention on Sunday, October 21st at the Jessup’s Community Center under the theme: Moving Forward Together. The Featured guest speaker at the convention will be the Parliamentary Representative for St. Christopher #3, the Hon. Konris Maynard.

In addition to the presentation of reports and voting on resolutions, the NRP will also vote on its new Strategic Plan and its amended Constitution. The Party will hold its internal election, including a vote for President (Party leader) to replace the outgoing Hon. Joseph Parry, who has led the Party since 1992.

According to the outgoing NRP President, the Hon. Joseph Parry, “All elected offices of the NRP are to be contested during the convention.”

Among those vying for the top post of President (Party leader) are Former Minister of Housing, Mr. E. Robelto Hector and Former President of the Clarence Fitzroy Bryant College (CFBC), Dr. Kelvin Daly.

In a general overview ahead of the convention, Mr. Hensley Daniel, in his pivotal role as Party Organizer, gave an upbeat perspective of the performance of the NRP since December 2017.

“We have been able to overcome several challenges as a party and we are expanding and strengthening our affiliates in the Youth arm and the Women’s Arm. We have opened new Party headquarters; we also have a new Strategic Plan and a substantially amended Constitution. The NRP is very strong, very vibrant and we have many more upcoming events in store for the residents of Nevis soon,” stated Mr. Daniel.
