PRIMARY SCHOOL FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT COMMENCES FRIDAY

FIFA Referee and local Coach, Kimbel Ward, confirmed on Wednesday, that the annual Primary Schools’ Football tournament, will commence tomorrow Friday, 28th October.

The opening ceremony is slated for the ET Willet Park at 1pm and this will be closely followed by two matches which will involve teams, featuring the two zones involved.

There are eight participating teams this year and they are zoned as follows;

ZONE 1

ZONE 2

In previous years, the tournament was well supported by long serving sponsor, GIANT MALT, but for the last few years, the league has been run without a sponsor.

Ward used the opportunity to appeal to the business institutions and members of the general public, to come forward and assist in sponsoring the tournament.

‘The children are the future of Football on the island. They need your help,’ he stated.

Last year’s winner was the Ivor Walters’ Primary school but Ward is anticipating some keen competition this year, as he pointed out that all of the schools have assigned coaches and are expected to perform at optimum level.

All of the matches will, be played at the ET Willet Park this year, starting at 1 pm and the days to be utilized are Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

Ward is appealing to the general public to come on out and support the youngsters, during the course of the tournament.
