Keep your umbrellas nearby in case as several Caribbean islands are expected to experience showers on Tuesday due to a tropical wave.

St Vincent and the Grenadines Meteorological in its 72 hours weather outlook published today said isolated thunderstorms are likely tonight and shower activity could increase during Tuesday as a vigorous tropical wave moves across the islands. Moderate to heavy showers, periods of light rain and thunderstorm activity can be expected across SVG during Wednesday as unstable conditions trail the tropical wave. Residents and motorists in areas prone to flooding and landslides or near rivers and streams should remain alert.

In Dominica, the Meteorological Office in its forecast this evening noted a tropical wave is approaching the area. It said favourable conditions in the area could lead to the generation of moderate to heavy showers and thunderstorms. Persons in areas prone to flooding landslides and falling rocks should be on the alert. It said persons should keep updated with the weather forecast as a flood watch or warning may be issued.

The T&T Met Office has issued an adverse yellow alert for Tuesday as it states there is a high (70 per cent to 80 per cent) chance of heavy showers/thunderstorms affecting Trinidad, Tobago and surrounding marine areas. These conditions are associated with the passage of an active Tropical Wave. Conditions are expected to intermittently deteriorate over the period with the most impactful weather during pre-dawn/early morning.

On Sunday, Spice Weather shared that the axis of a tropical wave was about 800 miles east of Grenada. It said convective activities (showers and thunderstorms) are produced both ahead and behind the wave’s axis. Weather models suggest this wave could begin to affect Grenada as early as Tuesday producing cloudiness and showery activity.
