Basseterre, St. Kitts, June 28, 2016, (RSCNPF): Below is a report of Arrest, Convictions and other activities recorded by the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force for the period June 24 – 27.
ARREST AND BAIL:
Arrested: Kareem Webbe of St.Peters was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offences of Possession of Cannabis and Possession of Cannabis with intent to supply. Offences took place on 24th June 2016, at about 09:27 hrs at Upper West Bourne Ghaut.
Arrested: Evron Williams was arrested and formally charged on a warrant in the first instance for attempting to make use of a firearm with intent to prevent the lawful apprehension of himself.
Arrested: Pedro Bello of Pitcairn Street was arrested and formally charged for Possession of Cocaine. This incident Occurred at about 22:45hrs on 24th June 2016. Bailed: Pedro Bello of Pitcairn Street, Newtown who was formally charged and cautioned for the offence of Possession of Cocaine was granted bail in the like sum of $8,000 for his appearance at the Basseterre Magistrate Court on Monday 4th July at 09:00hrs in the forenoon.
Arrested: Theo Lewis of Prospect Extension, Nevis was arrested and formally charged for the offences of Driving without Insurance, Driving without a Valid and Unexpired Licence, Bailed: Theo Lewis was granted in the like sum of $5,000.00 to appear at the Basseterre Magistrate Court on the 30th June 2016 at 09:00 in the forenoon.
Arrested: Deonsha Caines of Ponds Extension was arrested and formally charged for the following offences namely; Driving without Insurance, Driving without a valid and expired License and Driving without due care. Bailed: Deonsha Caines was granted in the like sum of $8,000, for her appearance at the Basseterre Magistrate Court on Thursday the 30th June at 9:00hrs in the forenoon.
Arrested: Rodney Clark of Buckley’s was arrested and formally charged for the offence Possession of Cannabis. Bailed: Rodney Clark was granted in the sum of $10,000.00 for the like sum of his appearance at the Basseterre Magistrate Court on Monday 4th July, 2016 at 9o’clock in the forenoon.
Arrested: Kenny Mills of Nisbett’s Settlement was arrested and formally charged for the offence of Being found in an enclosed premises.
Bailed: Orville Noland of Ponds Extension, Newtown who was formally charged and cautioned for the offence of permitting another to drive without a valid driver’s license was granted bail in the sum of $8,000 for his appearance at the Basseterre Magistrate Court on Thursday the 30th June at 9:00hrs in the forenoon.
Bailed: Kentab Tyson of West Farm St.Kitts who was formally charged and cautioned for the offense of Carrying abroad and offensive weapon was bailed out in the sum of $2000.00 E.C.C for his appearance at the Charlestown Magistrate Court on Tuesday 28th June, 2016 at 09:00 hrs in the forenoon.
COURT CONVICTIONS:
In matters at the District “B” Magistrate Court presided over by Her Honour Mrs. Karen Hill Hector, Norman Browne of Phillips Village who was charged with the offence of possession of cannabis committed on January 25, 2016 was convicted and fined $300.00 to be paid by July 24, 2016 or if in default serve three (3) months in prison hard labour. For the offences of battery on Police and resisting arrest committed on February 2, 2016 at Phillips Village he was convicted and fined $1000.00 for each charge to be paid by July 24, 2016 or if in default serve thirty (30) days in prison hard labour.
Alfred King, of Verchilds who was charged for the offence Indecent language and Insulting Language which was committed at the Verchilds playing field was convicted and fined $300.00 on both charges to be paid by July 17, 2016 or if in default serve 30 days Hard Labour.
In matters at the District A Magistrate Court, a special sitting was convened to hear the charges against Curtis ’50 cent’ Jackson and Bajar Walter both of U.S.A, both men pleaded guilty to charges of Indecent Language and were fined $3,000.00 each, payable forthwith or one (1) month hard labour. The obstruction charge was withdrawn, the fines were paid and their passports were returned to them.
OTHER ACTIVITY:
Larceny from unattended vehicle damage: Police is investigating a number of reports of breaking and larceny of vehicles that were parked in the area of the Youth & Community Center on Victoria Road. Inquiries revealed that all complainants locked and secured their vehicles respectively and attended the St. Kitts Music Festival at Warner Park. At about 2:25am on 26th June 2016, upon returning to their vehicles, six were reported were broken into. Investigations into these matters are ongoing.
House Breaking and Larceny: Police is investigating a report of breaking and larceny that occurred at West Farms on 27th June 2016. The residents reported that upon returning home about 6.35am it was discovered that the house broken into and a number of items stolen. The scene was processed by the Crime Scene Unit and the investigation is ongoing.
Robbery: Police is investigating a report of a robbery in the Taylors Housing Project. Inquiries revealed that the incident occurred about 3:40am. The V/C was approached by two masked men who demanded money. A sum of money was taken. Further investigations into this matter are ongoing.
Search Warrant Executed:- Police executed a search warrant on a property in Farm’s Housing project for drugs, guns and ammunition. Nothing was found to satisfy the search.
Search Warrant Executed:- Officers of the Newcastle Police station reported that they executed a Search Warrant on a premises in Nisbett’s Settlement for Controlled drugs Fire arms and ammunition. Nothing was found to satisfy the search.
Search Warrant Executed: A search warrant was executed on a premises in West Farms for in search of r stolen items, nothing was found .
Traffic Accidents: Eleven (11) traffic accidents occurred on the federation’s roadways during the period 24 – 27 June. Nine (9) in St. Kitts and (2) in Nevis.
Citizen Safety: Police continue efforts to ensure citizen safety by conducting stop and searches, vehicular check points, mobile patrol and increased foot patrols in our communities.
These activities are being done in effort to rid our communities of illegal drugs, firearms and ammunition and other instruments that can be used in the commission of crimes and aid in criminal activity.
Community Information: The Traffic Department has implemented traffic and parking restrictions for the upcoming CPL Cricket Matches at Warner Park. Information on traffic restrictions have been distributed to local media for posting on websites and or broadcast.
