REPORT OF ARREST, CONVICTIONS AND OTHER ACTIVITIES

Basseterre, St. Kitts, July 6, 2016, (RSCNPF):  Below is a report of Arrest, Convictions and other activities recorded by the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force for the period July 4-5.

ARREST AND BAIL:

Arrested:  Ayinde Osborune of Taylors Village was arrested charged and cautioned for the following offences; Making Use of Indecent Language, Resisting Arrest, Obstruction and Battery on Police which was committed on the 3rd July 2016, at about 9.00pm.   Bailed:  Ayinde Osborune was granted bail in the sum of $10,000.00 ECC for his appearance at the Basseterre Magistrate Court on the 8th August 2016 at 9:00am.

Arrested: Bianca Williams of Bath Village was formally charged and cautioned for the offences of Driving without Insurance and Driving without a valid driver’s licenses. Bailed: Bianca Williams was granted bail in the sum of $2500.00 X.C.D for her appearance at the Charlestown Magistrate Court on July 12, 2016 at 9.00am.

Arrested: Veldon Jeffers was arrested charged and cautioned for the offence of driving and not the holder of a valid driver’s licenses. Bailed: Veldon Jeffers was granted bail in the sum of $2500.00XCD his appearance at the Charlestown Magistrate Court on July 12, 2016 at 9.am

 COURT CONVICTIONS:

In matters at the St. Christopher Circuit Court presided over by Her Ladyship Justice Marlene Carter, Vere Merchant of Tabernacle Village who pleaded guilty to Possession of Firearm and Possession of Ammunition on 25th May, 2016 was sentenced to two (2) and a half years imprisonment.

 In matters at the District “B” Magistrate Court presided over by Her Honour Mrs Karen Hill Hector,  Morley Norford of St Paul who was charged with the offence of driving without due care and attention at Challengers Village was  convicted and ordered to pay a fine of $1000.00 to be paid by July 31, 2016 or if in default serve  thirty (30) days in prison at hard labour, he was further warned that should he appear before the said Magistrate for any similar offences his licence will be suspended.

Glenroy Morris of Dieppe Bay who was charged with the offence of failure to produce insurance committed at Tabernacle was convicted and ordered to pay a fine of $200.00 to be paid by July 15, 2016 or if in default serve fourteen (14) days in prison at hard labour.

Xavier French of Saddlers Village who was charged with the offence failing to produce insurance and driving without valid driver’s licence committed at St Paul was convicted and ordered to pay a fine of $200.00 on each charge to be paid by July 15, 2016 or if  in default serve fourteen (14) days in prison at hard labour.

Keith Morton of Buckley’s Estate who was charged with the offence of driving without seat belt committed at Mansion was convicted and ordered to pay a fine of $300.00 to be paid by July 15, 2016 or if  in default serve fourteen (14) days at hard labour.

OTHER ACTIVITY:

House Breaking and Larceny: Police is investigating a house breaking and larceny that occurred at John England Project. The resident  reported they secured their home and went to bed. Upon waking around midnight discovered the living room door open and some valuable items he then The scene was processed and the investigations are on-going.

House Breaking and Larceny: Police is investigating a report of house breaking and larceny that occurred at New Guinea. The resident reported that they retired to bed and at about 3:00am on July 5th 2016; Awoke to an intruder in the premises. The scene was processed and investigations are on-going.

HOSUE BREAKING AND LARCENY: Police is investigating a report of house breaking and larceny that occurred at Bouncing Hill, Sandy Point at about 4:45 am on July 5th 2016, the resident reported that they awoke to an intruder in the premises  The scene was processed and investigations are on-going.

Traffic Accidents: Five (5) traffic accidents occurred on the federation’s roadways in St. Kitts (3) for the period 4th July and (2) for the period 5th July .

Citizen Safety: Police continues to conduct Vehicular Check Points and or Stop and Searches and several searches of abandoned properties.  The check points and searches were done in efforts to ensure Citizen Safety, by removing any found Illegal Firearms, ammunition, illegal drugs, and other instruments that can be used to commit crimes
