Student of the Maude Crosse Preparatory School, presented for winning Courts Reading Competition

(CHARLESTOWN NEVIS)-The Maude Crosse Preparatory School held a presentation on the morning of Friday, January 8, 2016 at the School’s premises in Charlestown.

The occasion was to present a cheque to Hrishikesh Srinivasan, a Grade 5 student at the School, for being victorious in a reading competition that was held in St. Kitts on October, 2, 2015.

Hrishikesh, along with five other participants were vying for supremacy in the Courts (St. Kitts & Nevis) Ltd. reading competition that was keenly contested. At the end of the contest, he emerged as the winner with a total of 512 points.

Principal of School, Ms. Cherry-Anne Walwyn gave some brief remarks. She indicated that Hrishikesh had indeed made the school proud. “We here at the Maude Crosse Preparatory School are extremely happy and elated with what Hrishikesh has achieved”. The Principal noted that the young student is very dedicated and hardworking; therefore it was because of his hard work and dedication why he came out on top.

Principal Education Officer, Mrs. Ermilita Elliott also gave some brief remarks. She told those gathered that she was optimistic that the other students at the school will be motivated by Hrishikesh’s achievements. Mrs. Elliott pointed out that the Maude Crosse Preparatory School has been one to accomplished great things over the years; and Hrishikesh has increased the school’s accomplishments by winning the reading competition. She pointed out that another reading competition will be held in Dominica in February and Hrishikesh will travel there to participate in that competition.

Hrishikesh thanked his parents and teachers, for the assistance they gave to him leading up to the competition. He also stated, that he was very grateful to the School for affording him the opportunity to participate in the contest, and he hoped that he would continue to make them proud.

For his performance in the competition, he received a cheque of two thousand EC dollars ($2000.00) compliments of Courts (St. Kitts & Nevis) Ltd.
