THE INLAND REVENUE DEPARTMENT UNDERGOING REBRANDING PROCESS IN AN EFFORT TO SERVE THE PUBLIC BETTER‏

Basseterre, St. Kitts, April 14, 2016 (SKNIS): The Inland Revenue Department is currently undergoing a rebranding process with the aim of serving the nationals of St. Kitts and Nevis better.

Special guest on Wednesday’s edition of the Government’s radio and television programme “Working for You”, Mr. Edward Gift, Comptroller of the Inland Revenue Department, indicated that the department under the leadership of the Government of National Unity, has recognized the need to “enhance the services of the department to make it easier for our customers to interact with us.”

He explained that the department, “quietly reviewed a lot of its operations and procedures to make them much more customer based and friendly.”

Speaking to some of the changes, Mr. Gift said, “we have revamped a large number of brochures to make them much easier to understand,” adding that many of these brochures have already been launched and are available at the department and will be placed on the department’s website shortly.

A new radio programme entitled “Inland Revenue Tax Tips” has also been launched on local radio stations. According to the comptroller, the programme is aimed at ensuring that each national is aware of all of the services offered by the Inland Revenue Department.

Mr Gift also indicated that the Inland Revenue Department continues to depend on feedback from public. He noted that the department understands the need to learn how to improve from its customers.
