It has been the toughest period for broadcaster Alan Magnus.
In four days, Magnus has lost his wife, Karlene ‘Kerry’ Magnus and his long-time pal and colleague, Dorraine Samuels.
“I asked the questions, ‘Who have I troubled? Why is this happening to me? What are the odds of the two most important people in your life passing almost to the hour four days apart?'” Magnus said on RJR this morning in his first public comments since the deaths.
Kerry died on Friday from complications associated with the H1N1 virus, commonly called Swine Flu, and on Tuesday Samuels succumbed to her battle with pancreatic cancer.
Magnus said since the passing of his wife, it has been difficult, but he is consoled by the multitude of lives she had touched.
“Sometimes I feel like just stop doing everything that I have been doing and just don’t do anything else anymore,” Magnus said.
Kerry was a top-performing sales representative at Power 106FM, a member of the RJRGLEANER Communications Group.
Meanwhile, Magnus said he was devastated on Tuesday when he got news of Samuels’ passing.
“I couldn’t see through mi car windscreen, I don’t even know. I just tried to get home. I couldn’t do anything else,” he said.
