BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS – On the occasion of International Youth Day, the Parliamentary Representative for Central Basseterre (St. Christopher 2), the Hon. Marsha T. Henderson, reiterated her steadfast commitment to advancing the development, leadership, and well-being of the nation’s youth.
In an official statement issued by the Central Basseterre Labour Branch, Minister Henderson—who serves as Minister of Tourism, Civil Aviation, and Labour—emphasised the importance of providing equal opportunities for young people across all walks of life.
“Our young people grow up in different circumstances, but they carry the same hopes: dignity, a real voice, and the opportunity to build a fulfilling life,” said Minister Henderson. “Here in Central Basseterre, I remain committed to creating spaces where our youth can learn, sharpen their talents, express their ideas, and grow into confident leaders.”
The statement highlighted the recent success of the Future Leaders Summer Camp as a clear reflection of this vision, describing it as a vital investment in preparing children for tomorrow’s opportunities.
“Young people are not only the leaders of the future; they are creators, innovators, and partners in shaping our communities right now,” the statement continued. “Their voices must be heard, their potential must be nurtured, and they must have a seat at the table when decisions are made about their lives.”
Concluding with a message of encouragement to the youth of Constituency #2 and the wider Federation, Minister Henderson shared: “To every young person in Central Basseterre and across St. Kitts and Nevis: your dreams matter, your ideas matter, and your contribution matters.
