HARARE, ZIMBABWE — The Zimbabwe Women’s cricket team produced a stunning upset against the West Indies Women on Tuesday, securing a dramatic four-wicket victory in the second One-Day International (ODI) to level the three-match series 1–1.
Having dominated the opening match of the series, the West Indies struggled to find rhythm after being sent in to bat. The Caribbean side’s batting lineup faltered against a disciplined Zimbabwean bowling attack, tumbling to 139 all out. Veteran batter Stafanie Taylor provided the primary resistance for the visitors, top-scoring with a hard-fought 47, but found little sustained support at the other end.
In response, Zimbabwe paced their run-chase with composure. Built on three crucial 30-plus-run contributions across their top and middle order, the hosts comfortably overhauled the 140-run target in the 41st over, finishing on 140 for 6.
The victory marks a milestone result for Zimbabwe Women and sets up a high-stakes, series-deciding final match.
