Good evening,
I regret that I will be unable to attend the Prime Minister’s Grand Gala this evening.
As you are aware, serious events unfolded earlier today in Venezuela. Having assumed the Chairmanship of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) on January 1, I have been, and remain, engaged in discussions with fellow Heads of Government, regional leaders, and the CARICOM Secretariat as we carefully assess the potential implications for our region and the well-being of our people.
I also wish to assure the citizens and residents of Saint Kitts and Nevis that I will continue to work steadfastly in the best interests of our nation and our people.
I extend my best wishes for a successful Grand Gala and commend the organisers for their commitment to this worthy cause. Proceeds will benefit breast cancer awareness and support groups—an effort of significant importance.
I offer my sincere appreciation to all patrons, partners, and supporters whose participation ensures the continued success of this initiative.
